Did you know that Australian short fiction originated from the tall tales of bush-rangers and other early writers of the 19th and twentieth centuries such as Henry Lawson. “The Loaded Dog” is an example of one of Lawson’s tall tales.

What are the main elements of the tall tale?   How does a tall tale differ from a short tale?
